Do I have to register my domain name with you?

No, you do NOT have to register your domain name with Custom Web Designs.biz. Even though our Domain Name Restistration starts for as little as $1.99 per year, we realize that you may have already secured your domain name elsewhere; however, we can Transfer Domains for as little as $6.95 and that includes a FREE one-year extension to your existing registration.

Can I use my existing domain name with your Hosting Services?

Yes, you can use your existing domain name with our hosting services; however, once the name servers have been updated it can take up to 72 hours for this information to filter through the internet. What happens is that we submit this information to the master record database and it is available there within hours. However, each Internet Service Provider (ISP) does not use the master record every time they need to find a domain name. What the ISP’s do is copy the master record and update their own database of name server information. So when someone on their ISP looks for a domain name they are given the information in the ISP’s database, not the up-to-date master record database. The problem spawns from the fact that each ISP updates their database with the new information whenever they want to. Some do it every night, some every other day, and some up to every 3 days.

Do I have to host with you?

No, you do NOT have to host with Custom Web Designs.biz. Even though our Hosting Plans start for as little as only $2.55 a month, we understand completely if you want to host elsewhere. Prior to creating your site we will need to know your server specifications to ensure that the site we design for you will work or your server. After we have finished creating your site we will send you the files to upload to your server. Please note that we do NOT offer the free 24/7 technical support to clients that host elsewhere.

Can you create a page to show me before I make a purchase?

No, we will not create a page before a purchase is made. There must be an order placed and a down payment made before any design work can begin.

Do I have to know exactly what I want when I place an order?

Not at all. If you give us a general idea and some literature about your company, our graphic and web designers will create three custom layouts for you to choose from. Once a layout has been agreed upon we will modify that design until it looks exactly how you want it to.

Do I get to see the site before it goes live?

Yes, your site will be viewable on our Drawing Board. As a matter of fact, you will be very involved in the creation of your site. You will get to watch the site as it is being built so you can constantly provide us with the feedback necessary to create exactly the site you want. Your complete satisfaction is very important to us. We will not post your site to the internet or accept the final payment until you are 100% satisfied.

How do you get my company logo and information on the new website?

If you already have a web site, we can download your logo and other information and transfer it to the site we create for you. If you do not have a web site but want to use your existing print logo, just mail us your logo or scan and email it to us in the best quality possible. If you have access to the original electronic file used to create your logo that would be the best file to send us. If you do not have an existing web site for us to get your content from you can email us your content in an electronic format or mail us any of your current print marketing materials like business cards, brochures, catalogs, etc. for us to use in creating your new site. We can accept most file formats via email. We can also provide you with FTP access to upload very large files to us or you can burn them to a CD or DVD and mail them.

Can you create a new company logo for me?

Yes, we can create a new company logo for you. Please visit our Logo Design section for more information and our Logo Portfolio to see samples of our work.

How long will it take to create the new website?

It depends on the size and the complexity of the site. The average is two weeks. Some sites take two days, while others can take two months, if not longer. The time of completion quite often depends on the time it takes for you to gather all of your content and on the time it takes to develop custom graphics and the custom layout as several edits could occur to ensure your complete satisfaction. No matter how large or small your site, you will get your first screenshots within 24 hours of your down payment.

Do I have access to my site or do I need to contact you when I want to make a change?

Yes, you have full access. You can change whatever you would like to on your own. We provide you with 24/7 FTP access for you to administer the site. You are provided with a Customer ID number and user names and passwords for your domain account, hosting account, and site statistics.

Is the website ours?

Yes, you own it completely.

Do I get statistics about the site?

Do you submit my new site to Search Engines?

We offer Search Engine Visibility to help promote your business online and increase your online visibility in a few simple steps! NO technical expertise is necessary. If you can type and click, you can use Search Engine Visibility! This service is designed to generate traffic to your web site by helping you prepare, optimize, and submit your web site to key Internet search engines and directories.

How many email addresses can I have, and how do I use them?

When you host with us, you get up to 100 FREE dedicated POP3 email addresses. You can access your email through a program like Outlook or you can use webmail that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. You can also set up features like email redirect and autoresponders in the same control panel you use to create email addresses and aliases.

What is your cancellation policy?

You have thirty (30) days from the date of the initial down payment to cancel unless you have given the final approval, final payment, and the new site has been loaded. Once the new site is loaded to the server you may NOT cancel. If you wish to cancel within the thirty (30) days and you have not made your final payment, you may do so without any obligation to make the final payment. There are no refunds.
